Volunteer Opportunities

Faith House has many volunteer opportunities within our organization. Volunteers help programs and events run smoother. We are always in need of more volunteers!
Service Opportunities

In-kind donation assistant
Assists with the receipt and sorting of donations every second Tuesday of every month at the Family Life Church.

administrative support
Assists with compiling and labeling mailings, distributing fliers for events, creating spreadsheets and general clerical support on an on-call or seasonal basis.

Shelter support
Assists with organizing the clothing closet, storage shed, and storage unit. Assists with cleaning up areas of shelter.

General MaintenAnce
Assists with maintenance, landscaping/gardening, and facility improvements on an as-needed basis

special events support
Assists with various tasks at special events, fundraising events, and community celebrations, including setup, breakdown, guest interaction, and more, to ensure a smooth and successful event.

meal volunteer
Assists with bringing ingredients for a complete meal or a prepared meal on a monthly or bi-monthly basis.

wildflower lane Support
Assists with light cleaning, sorting and hanging donations at our resale shop located in Crowley.

Direct support
Provides immediate support to emergency shelter residents with safety planning, resource referrals, and in-the-moment needs.

Children's program support
Offers individualized attention, tutoring, and support to youth in the shelter. Facilitates/co-facilitates children's groups with youth providing educational support, building social skills and engaging youth in activities.

background check
Obtain your background check from 303 W. Vermilion St. by saying you are interested in volunteering with us!

paperwork
Confidentiality agreement, Release and Waiver of Liability form, Reference check, and Emergency Contact and Medical form.
Interested in working directly with survivors? Additional requirements underneath:

40-hour advocate training
Online modules to become familiar with topics of domestic violence.

Volunteer training
In-person, scheduled training to become familiar with shelter procedures and topics of domestic violence.
