Sara Ritchey is an associate professor of history at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where her scholarship reflects her interest in gender equity and social justice. She strives to bridge the resources of Faith House with the needs of the University, and to bring greater attention to the ways dating violence effects the campus community. She is invested in helping Faith House to expand its services in the region through the establishment of Family Justice Centers and by reforming state laws, policy, and practices related to domestic violence. She is committed to working for Faith House because she believes that awareness and education can change public perception of domestic violence so that communities will hold abusers accountable and will support laws and services that prevent violence and promote survivors' health and economic security.
