 To end sexual and domestic violence we must talk about its presence in our community, educate ourselves about the dynamics of abuse and understand how each of us plays a role in the process to end the violence. Through outreach and education, Faith House´s Community Education Program works to increase knowledge and prevent future violence.
 Community outreach is essential in creating a safety net in our community and important in preventing future violence. Faith House employees and trained volunteers staff booths at a variety of community events in order to heighten awareness about domestic violence and Faith House services.  Faith House staff and trained volunteers work to increase community understanding on domestic violence by providing presentations to civic and professional groups, schools, private organizations, parents and loved ones of survivors, as well as other interested groups. In order to enhance community response to these issues, staff provides professional trainings to responders such as law enforcement officers, attorneys, health care providers, faith leaders and pastoral staff, social workers, counselors, caregivers, employers, educators, and child care personnel.  Faith House staff is available to present information on domestic violence at any time. We also have specialized educational presentations. These presentations include: Real Men Campaign, Teen Dating Violence, Girl Talk and Hands are not For Hitting.
Real Men Campaign: The Real Men Campaign is targeted for boys in grades 6-12. The presentation consists of a male volunteer from the community presenting alternatives to violence. The presentation also addresses bullying, conflict resolution and teen dating violence.
Teen Dating Violence: Teen Dating Violence is targeted for high school and college students. This presentation is focused on aspects of abuse, including the definition of teen dating violence, warning signs, types of abuse, teen dating statistics, why does she stay, how to help the abuser and the abused.
Girl Talk: Girl Talk is targeted for middle school girls. This presentation addresses developing self-respect, understanding dating relationships, conflict resolution and warning signs.
Hands are Not for Hitting: Hands are Not for Hitting is targeted for elementary school children. This program talks about appropriate ways to use your hands and offers alternatives to hitting. As part of the program the children sign a pledge saying that their hands are not for hitting.
